A fish is an aquatic, gilled animal that lacks limbs with digits (fingers and toes). It belongs in the animalia kingdom, in the chordata phylum. The way they are defined means they are definitely not amphibians, mammals or reptiles, but they do share a common ancestry with tetrapods (amphibians, mammals, reptiles, birds).
