My favorite breed is rescue dog, because they don't need a pedigree to be the best dogs in the world!
My favorite breed is Belgian Malinois; however, German Shep or even Victorian Collie would be a close second... I am blessed with having a Belgian named Mollinator (Molly). She is friendly, motherly, intelligent, alert, a cheap personal trainer and protector for my family.
Last Spring on the way to our neighborhood Starbucks, we were crossing a busy intersection and she sensed danger seconds before it happened and actually yanked me away from the path of a jeep that was broadsided and sliding sideways from the impact to where I would have been if the Mollinator had not anticipated... Approximately a year ago The Mollinator and our two Sheps contained a not so "gentleman" who was running from the police after an armed robbery of an AT&T store in our town. The not so"gentleman" was jumping side fences and fleeing through backyards after abandoning a stolen car nearby. Our dogs heard and I believe smelled him before he jumped in our backyard little shop of horrors. After he was in our yard the hungry trio of the Mollinator, Moose Boy and Fiendona (Fiona) chased him into a shed where he waited anxiously for the police to rescue him.
