Is your Pet the neighborhood  Thief?

Does your backyard look like a junkyard with numerous objects? Do you find pieces of clothing in your pets bed that don't belong to you? Some animals have emotional issues like people and steal objects from the neighbors to stash or hoard them at your home.

While my cat mostly stays near home when she goes out (we have a big yard and a covered porch that she likes to lie around on) last Christmastime something must have drawn her out. Three separate times she came home with a bird, left as a gift for us at the front door. A cat hunting? How is this unusual, one might ask?

Well, the birds were decorations. Made of material like feathers and burlap, beautiful little pieces on clips and we figure they must have been clipped in a pine tree somewhere as holiday decor. Of course we would have returned them, but we had no idea (even after driving around slowly) who they belonged to or where our cat was going! As it stopped after three and nothing else was stolen we didn't need to do anything to change her behavior, or limit her outdoor life.

I can imagine the look on the neighbors face if you did find the rightful owners!
      Pets have emotional needs too!
