I just opened my own pet website for the Orlando, Fl. area pet services but also pets overall. I'm surprised at how easy it has been to rank for key words.
So, I'm going to be making more hubs about pets also to compliment my pet website. There are tons of products, services and information to write about pets.
Does anyone here write about pets a lot, and if so do you get good adsense clicks? Seems like if you word it right you can get very targeted ads for pet articles.
Pets are typically my main priority for hubs. I've taken many other ventures, but pets was my initial startout and typically my priority.
I do well, but you must realize how many sites have pet articles and already have a huge backlink log. It's more than just setting up a pet care page, as everything has been covered by someone, somewhere. You just have to make yours a little different to attract searches.
If you've done well with your site, you should be fine hubs on the topic. Good luck.
I couldn't tell you how much of my earnings come from the pet care hubs though, but my overall earnings are great. I do have a wide variety of topics and niches covered.
I have seen commercials on TV for Dog Dental Care so that should be a Hot Niche!
Well much of my pet website focuses on Pet services in the Orlando area. So key words for that is pretty easy, as is anything for just one city.
However even general topics with longtail key words seem not too hard. I did one article in my month old site on "do cats need sunlight" and I'm #6 or so on the first page of Google.
But yes, I imagine trying to rank for pet toys or pet food would be very, very hard. Plus you can do hubs and articles on all the many pet diseases and aliments.
Anyway I'm going to give it a shot and make hubs about pets which will compliment my site. I have one cat, Spinkie!
Thats great, Bill I see that your website is number 5 now for that longtail keyword, good work.
Thanks, once I get a few backlinks to that one article it should go up even more.

One of my friends dog just got put down. Her name was Maddy, She couldn't move around but the sad part was that she was one of the nicest dogs ever. Anyway, the most common way for your pet to die is having them put down. This was the case for Maddy. What you need to remember is that they were...

Hi everyone. I've been writing for HubPages for several years now and enjoyed some success. But the copied articles are getting out of hand. Pretty much all my top earners have that little copyright claim red circle beside them. Recently one of my top earners was pasted into a forum and has cut my...
