How to crochet a baby beanie from single crochet

Baby beanies are the easiest to crochet. They can be completed in a day and are very cute. It is always advisable to crochet a baby item with a yarn which should be washable and soft since the a baby's skin is very soft. I usually use Lion brand baby yarn whenever I crochet anything for an infant.

Given below are the pattern for baby beanie. The crochet needle which I have used is of 5mm.

Abbreviations :-

Ch = Chain

beg = beginning

St = stitch

Pattern

1. Round 1 - Ch 5
2. Join the chains and make a ring with slip st.
3. Round 2 - Ch 1,
4. Single Crochet 10 st in the ring.
5. Join with Slip stitch with the first ch at the beg.
6. Round 3- Ch 1.
7. Now work 2 single crochet in each single crochet.
8. Join with Slip stitch with the first ch at the beg.
9. Round 4 - Ch 1.
10. Single crochet in each single crochet st done in round 2.
11. Join with Slip stitch with the first ch at the beg.
12. Round 5 - Single crochet in the first 2 st and then 2 single crochet in the next st.
13. Slip stitch to join round of beg.
14. Round 6- Single crochet in each st and 2 single crochet in the next st. In case you miss a st or do a mistake, it does not matter!!!
15. Slip stitch to join round of beg.
16. You can omit Round 6 if you think that it will bigger for the baby. Infact I started doing single crochet after round 4.
17. Round 7 single crochet in each st.
18. Slip stitch to join round of beg.
19. Keep doing single stitch till you get the desired length. It will take a few more rounds. You will find the shape coming out soon as this
20. You can weave in the ends. You can weave in loose ends or you can block it if desired.
21. You can use different color of yarn as I have done.
