Updated on December 31, 2016

Fun Hobbies

Having a hobby can provide improvement in that hobby when practiced more often. A hobby can improve creativity, self-esteem, passion, mental health, pleasure and accomplishments. Everyone should have a hobby/activity to free themselves from idle time. A hobby is an activity that you should enjoy doing. These extra-curricular activities can be done in groups or individually. Learning a new hobby keeps your mind alert. Some people may have more than one hobby. When beginning a hobby, start slowly at first while learning, you will need patience.

Remember to learn a safe hobby, one that doesn't hurt you or anyone else. Be enthusiastic about your new hobby, after all it is what you will be doing in your down time. There are different stages to having a hobby which are: beginner, intermediate, and professional. Having a hobby is not a waste of time actually it is useful time and beneficial. So choose a hobby that you will like doing. A hobby can assist your; mind, Spirit, emotions, and your body toward positive growth. Many hobbies have led to something else, but we won't know until we stay with our hobby for a while.

Create a New Hobby

Creating a new hobby is better use of your time, than idle time which is a fool's playground. Sitting around doing nothing of value with our time, is not a smart idea. On our down time, our time can be spent doing what is fun and therapeutic. When I am crocheting, I am meditating on positive thoughts, watching a comedy on TV, or listening to music. And plus there are so many fun things to crochet. Hobbies will keep our minds sharp and ready for the next exciting challenge of our hobby.
When I was in grade school I remember having a Popsicle stick collection for my doll house hobby. I enjoyed it a lot though it took a while for me to collect all those Popsicle sticks.

There are many hobbies to start with, for example:

♥ ♥ reading or writing poetry, crocheting, bike riding, gardening, taking a dance class, playing card games, playing badminton, sports, collecting items, playing Tetris, swimming, photography, arts and crafts, writing articles, and/or poker. ♥ ♥
Importantly, some people need to know that gambling is not a hobby.

Make Room Space for Your Hobby

Make space for your hobby; make a room for your hobby in your home or garage. This will pay off for you in the long run. Your hobbies can be a blessing to someone else life as well. Furthermore, there are some individuals who play Bingo as one of their hobbies. You can find out where the nearest Bingo Hall is in your town to play for prizes as well.

Fun Hobbies for Kids

Hobbies for children can be education and fun. Back in the day, children collected baseball cards as collector's item as a hobby. Some hobbies last a lifetime, and some end up being a career.

Many years ago I crocheted and did embroidery as a hobby, then it was gardening. Now, this darned computer and writing stuff online seems to be my all consuming hobby.

I have many hobbies. Last year I made most of my Christmas gifts...everyone got either afghans or rare books that I collected throughout the year! I also made hat and mitten sets for my grandchildren up north and crocheted dolls for my little granddaughters. I wasn't bored, not even for one minute!

Hi RTalloni, that's cool. I haven't crocheted a blanket as of yet. I guess I'm still a beginner, but crocheting will always be one of my best hobbies.
