Canon EOS Rebel T3

Canon EOS Rebel T3 Review

The Canon EOS Rebel T3 is just one of many cameras that Canon have produced over the years and this has led to them really establishing themselves as one of the top manufacturers in the industry. This particular model forms part of their Digital SLR range, but what is it capable of doing and how good or bad is it to actually own? In order to answer this it is important that we delve deeper into the camera.

What The Rebel T3 Does

When choosing a new camera there are always a number of areas that people will tend to focus on and one is always the number of mega pixels. In this instance you are going to get 12.2MP and even though this is not the highest number out there it can still offer the enthusiastic amateur a crisp enough image. This is backed up by a CMOS sensor and also their DIGIC 4 image processor and all of this leads to an improvement in not only the quality, but also the speed as well.

One of the other areas of concern is going to be the light sensor and for this version the ISO readings go from 100 to 6400 and this means you can easily take photographs ranging from bright light to quite dim areas without too many problems. In order to help keep the photograph looking great, the Canon EOS Rebel T3 comes with a 9 point auto focus system that uses not only normal focusing, but also precision focusing as it takes into account things such as the light and the aperture.

You will then find that the camera goes one step further as it has a 63 zone dual-layer sensor and what this does is it measures the light in the shot, the color, and even the luminosity and this leads to you getting a beautifully balanced image no matter the conditions.

All of this can be viewed through a crystal clear 2.7 inch wide LCD monitor that has 230,000 pixels and it really is a great screen when it comes to using the live view option as this is where you can zoom in on a specific area of an image and check the details before taking the shot to let you know that it really is perfect. The camera itself can also take HD videos with you then able to link it up to your computer or television screen to let you view them when you get home.

Positives Aspects Of The Canon EOS T3

All of the above does sound fantastic, but it is best to just spend some time finding out more about the actual positives of the camera to help you to decide if this is something that you should look at buying. One real positive are the various modes that come with the Rebel T3 and in particular the sports mode is rather effective if you want to take a number of photographs in quick succession. You will also be pleased with the clarity and colors that appear in the images because even though they will not be up to the quality of more expensive cameras you will still be able to amaze people with what you have produced.

Finally, Canon have made sure that the camera is very easy to understand and you should have no problem in moving between functions and this is one reason why it sits well between a basic digital camera and the more expensive, and more complicated digital SLR versions at the other end of the market.

Possible Negative Points To The Rebel T3

One complaint is that the Rebel T3 does feel a little bit too plastic and it is missing the hand grip that is on other models, but then due to it having a bit more plastic it does make it that bit lighter and it is certainly still very well made. Perhaps the only other negative is that there are a number of occasions where you should use the manual focus option rather than auto focus due to the time taken, but this is something you will learn more about as you use the camera.

Conclusion - Canon EOS Rebel T3

To conclude, it has to be said that the Rebel T3 is a fantastic camera for its price as long as you do remember that it is not a model that is aiming at the top of the range digital SLR market. This does mean that it offers you slightly lower mega pixels and the ISO readings are slightly lower, but for an enthusiastic amateur that has always wanted to use this type of camera, but felt that they could never afford it, then this one is certainly the answer. The speed is more than adequate, the functionality is equal to some versions that can cost double, and it is a straightforward camera to use, so overall you are advised to consider buying this model if it falls within your desired budget.
