Is it true that ghost riders in the sky is the first music video?
I don't know but my guess would be either Madonna or Michael Jackson.
nope, nope, and nope ... I was there ... erm, I mean, I know of someone who was there.
The first music video (on MTV - I assume that's what we were talking about) was (appropriately) Video killed the Radio Star by the Buggles (who never had a big hit thereafterwards, so I suppose it killed them too)
No No I'm talking back in the 50s when Gene Autrey did it in his black and white shootem up The scene acualy faded from Gene's face as he was singing to like a dream sequence of the ghost riders.
For some reason, I think the first video was "Video killed the radio star" (I have forgotten the name of the artist, sorry).
Interesting question. I think I heard somewhere that Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" was the first MTV music video.
