What are your favorite beadweaving techniques and why? (peyote, right angle weave, etc.)
Eek, you're going to make me choose?? A lot depends on my mood, I've spent quite a few years learning how to do everything I possibly can with bead-weaving, and each is useful for unique things. If you'd have asked me two days ago, I probably would have said brick-stitch because I do a lot of shaped earrings, pendants, etc. However, today I'm enamored of right-angle weave, because I use it in a modified pinwheel pattern that I do. Yesterday someone who has also been beading for a lot of years was just raving over my pinwheel bracelets because she couldn't figure out how they were done. That's the same reason I love beaded micro-macrame -- it's versatile, it's intricate, and I absolutely LOVE IT when someone can't figure out how I made something .
