Yarn. I am a beginning spinner and weaver. I get a lot of satisfaction out of spinning my own yarn because I know what I'm getting. I attend sheep shearings and purchase my own fiber. I won't buy acrylic yarn. And when you spin your own yarn (this includes llama, alpaca, Angora, etc.), there is a possibility that you won't buy the mass-produced yarn, which has gone down in quality over the years.
