    Some "How To" wood projects for kids will depend greatly on the age of the child.  My suggestions would be:  a tool box carrier, a baseball cap rack, a bean bag game board, bird house or bird feeder, and a counting frame.  These would all be for the younger child, with help from you.  Some patterns for the baseball cap rack can be found at woodworkersworkshop.com.  I will do a short Hub to show you pictures of two of these that I have made.

    For young kids, Lowes (the home improvement chain) offers free workshops on Saturdays for kids (and parents) to make a wood project, using free supplies and tools. Examples are a wooden police car, toy trucks, binoculars....
