My Coloring Page
Original Drawing Coloring Page
I used to love my coloring books when I was a little child, especially coloring books with pictures of princesses, fairies, and magical girls. My favorite was the manga style magical girls with their many costumes. I still like coloring pictures, actually. Only now, I color my own drawings.
In this page, I will upload some of my uncolored drawings for other to color freely. A few are pencil sketches, so maybe they will be a little blurry and unclear. Others are inked by hand so the pictures are clear but slightly shaky. My hands suffer occasional tremors. There are also pictures inked digitally with vector based program so they will have clean crisp lines.
Here's one of the first few images. Enjoy!
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - Georgia O'Keefe
Maiden on the Stairs
This is a pencil sketch picture I made a few years back. When drawing this, I kept getting these flashes of images of a girl sitting alone on the stairs, doing practically nothing. Just contemplating life, perhaps?
The lines are not very neat. I still need to improve my strokes. But the image is simple so it should be quite easy to color.
Maiden on the Swing
Here is another pencil sketch image. Again, I'm very sorry that the lines are not very clear. The yellow background is actually the color of my sketch book paper. It is not pure white, but more like ivory.
I hope a lot of colors can go well with this kind of coloring. I tried leveling in Photoshop, but ended up erasing most of the pencil strokes. So the picture is pretty much stuck that way.

Indian Woman in Sari
I've always wanted to draw Indian women in their traditional garb. I don't know how to spell the word. Is it Sari? Saree? But I love it. The color of the fabric is so vibrant and strong. Unfortunately I couldn't draw the head scarf. It is very difficult to draw transparent fabric with a lot of fringes and dangling charms.
So this one is the simplest of the simplest of the traditional Indian garb for women. It does have some intricate designs at some points, so if you like a little challenge, have a go at this image.

Oriental Fan Dance
Hi All. I uploaded a new coloring page. Again, it is about Asian traditional costume. This time, I add a bit of traditional culture too. Chinese fan dance has always been a personal favorite for obvious reasons. The vibrant colors and movements. The costumes for this dance vary with regions, I think. The one I drew, I saw it on TV once or twice, so I thought it was the most commonly used. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, because this costume might be that accurate, compared to the genuine article.
With the costume and the fans, I didn't add too much detail and patterns. I would leave it to your imagination. Besides it is more fun to create the patterns by ourselves, isn't it? Freedom to design.
If the above picture is too small, you can download the big one (200 dpi) here.
Enjoy and happy coloring!
Angel Playing A Guitar
This is about a boy angel who loves playing guitar. I did a pencil sketch of this picture quite a while ago. But I haven't got to ink and upload it. So the inking was done by digital means. Corel Draw, which is the only vector based software I could actually use. The image is quite simple, so children can easily put in some color with any kinds of method. Colored pencils are the easiest to maneuver. Watercolor can be gorgeous too.
Enjoy! Happy coloring!
Musical Angel - The Second Angel
This recorder-playing angel is the second one from the whole musical angel series. The first one being the boy angel playing a guitar (of sort).
I redrew the picture from pencil sketch using vector drawing software for cleaner lines. The background is very simple. You can add more elements of your liking, such as stars, musical notes, even pink hearts. The style is manga-like in general, chibi in particular. Girls will love this. My nieces loved coloring this when I printed a few sheets for them.
Happy coloring!
Musical Angel
Third and Fourth Angel, The Tambourine Player and The Triangle Player
This is the third angel from the musical angels group. This one plays an instrument called a tambourine, a kind of percussion instrument. Many tambourines are different in appearance and sound. Some have skin or rubber covering on one side, some don't. Some have the classic cylinder shape, some might not. But all share the same feature, that is the metal disks arranged around the side wall producing jingling sound. The sound is a lot softer than the clanging of cymbals.
Now, the triangle, also a kind of percussion instrument, gives a different vibe. The single 'ding' is more pronounced and clear. It is usually made of metal and mostly used to add an extra 'oomph' to the musical rhythm or to emphasize a musical part.
Musical Angel - The Fifth Angel
The last angel is a violin player. Violin, also known as fiddle, is a type of stringed instrument with wooden hourglass-shaped body and an ebony neck. The strings may be made of organic material such as gut or inorganic material such as steel. Violin strings can be worn from frequent use and will need occasional replacing. People usually play the violin using a bow with a ribbon made of horsehair.
My Dream Wedding Dress
When I was a little girl, I used to like playing dress up. My favorite outfit would be my aunt's old party dress. I could pretend it was a wedding dress because the color was ivory, a little close to white. Since then, I tried doodling and sketching the wedding dress designs I wanted for my wedding day.
This design is the traditional ball gown with fitted bodice and full puffy long skirt. It is sleeveless with fingerless gloves to complete the look.
The perfect dress hasn't come up yet. But here's to hoping.
Uta Hime Niko
Hi All,
It's been a long time since my last upload. I have a new picture for this coloring page. The style is anime/manga, my favorite (and perhaps, only) style of drawing. Initially, it was made for a competition posted on The Book Depository. It called for an original character in manga or anime style. The one I sent them was a full-colored picture. I thought, maybe it's okay if I uploaded the original black and white drawing here for others to enjoy coloring. I hope the stored image is big enough. If not, please inform me.
What Should the Title Be? - A Picture Without A Name
Hi all fellow squids....
I put before you my hand-drawn picture. The idea that inspired this was from the Greek mythology. A mythical creature called Nereid. But this Nereid hybrid is holding a scepter that contains a miniature harp on one end, and a G-clef look-alike on the other end.
I raked my mind trying to put together an appropriate name for this. Unfortunately, I do not succeed. So, I plead to you, fellow squids, to come up with a strong and suitable name for this picture and post it in the comment box below. Pretty please....
The name suggestions that fit the image will be uploaded in my blog on the full color version of this picture.
