Updated on March 13, 2018

A car laptop holder is a special device that you can install in your vehicle so that you can use your laptop computer easily and conveniently. Such item is very useful for people who spend most of the time on the road and while need to access to the computer quite often. Besides, a laptop car mount is also very useful for people to utilizing their time caught in the jam. Imagine you are stuck in the jam for two hours, isn’t it better to spend it on your unfinished task rather than just leisurely listening to the radio?

Although you can now work on your laptop while in the car, it is highly recommended that you only do that when your vehicle is safely parked or when you are stuck in the jam that hardly needs your attention very much. This is for your safety purposes and it is impossible for anyone to handle two tasks at the same time.

Car laptop stand is useful when you are traveling to a new place and which you need to use your laptop. All you need to do is just find a place to park your car and then fire up your pc. Some business executives or sale representatives might need to access urgent data that delivered through email or site update. With this product, you won’t need to find a café to sit down to access the computer comfortably.

By the way, with today technology of high speed wireless internet access (with hspda modem and mobile wireless router), it is even more practical since that you do not need to borrow Starbuck’s line or from internet café. Such wireless technology has enabled anyone to have access to the internet at just anywhere as long as there is a signal for it.

There are actually two different types of laptop car mount that you can choose from. The first one is known as the ‘no-drill’ mount. Using this type of mount, you don’t need to do any modifications to your vehicle as it utilizes the existing bolts and fixtures of your car. All needed to be done is just removing the bolts that could be found at the bottom of the car and fix this mount onto it before putting the bolts back onto it. It’s very simple and it provides you with all the flexible that you need while using your laptop in the car.

The second type of laptop stand is known as the universal mount. This mount can be installed into most vehicles but unlike the previous type, this one need drilling works to be done. A universal laptop mount resembles the no-drill model in the working principle. However, instead of installing the mount into the car existing bolts, it has a small square base that need to be bolted to a flat section of your car's floor and this is done through drilling. This model is very popular and widely used in service vans that serve for commercial purposes. It costs cheaper and could be easily found in any stores.

Buying A Car Laptop Mount?

Getting a 'no-drill' mount is harder than the universal type as each mount is made different for different type of car and model, and that isn't include the year made. Local store might not carry this type of mount due to the vast amount of brands. Universal type mount on the other hand, is much easier to find. It's a one fits for all mount so most store could carry them in their stocks.

If you prefer a 'no-drill' mount, perhaps you should start searching on the internet. Online stores and marketplace tend to have them since they have lower operating cost. Amazon and eBay is the perfect choice to hunt for one. If you still could not find the right model, you can try the search engine; there are some online stores that specialize in car laptop mount and they can offer you with whatever model that you are looking for.

If you don't need a mount, perhaps you can try a steering wheel laptop desk mount. It is a platform that you can mount it onto the wheel so that you can put your laptop on it or even do other stuffs such as writing or even eating. However, I wouldn't think that this will be as convenient as using a normal car laptop holder, but that's just my humble opinion. You can check it out for yourself at below.
