Here are some tips from Environmental Working Group, which is based in Washington to avoid radiation coming from cellphones.

  1. Use headset or speaker – using wireless or wired headsets or speakers will enable you to avoid direct contact with your phones. Thus, you absorb lesser radiation to the head.
  2. Try to send messages through texting and do not rely heavily on calling. This allow your phones to consume less power, which will translate to lesser radiation.
  3. Keep your phone away from your body when conversing. Not against your ear, in your pocket or in your belt where soft portion of your body may easily absorb radiations emanating from the phones.
  4. Keep away from your cellphones when it is low bat and has a very poor signal. This is very important since lesser signal bars on your phones indicate that it emits more radiation in an effort to gain more signals from a transmitter.
