I'm not sure that there is necessarily a 'best' color for a fast car. But certainly many of them happen to be red.
I agree with springboard, red is often associated with a fast car. This might be because Ferrari started out by producing only red cars.
Red and black are most common, just remember car color can affect your insurance rates. Thats why the ask for make, model and color. Got to love profiling.
I'd say red and yellow. Red coated covered in yellow flames!
Taste is subjective and I think it depends on the brand and model.
Ferrari in red, Lamborghini is nice in their green or carbon black, etcetera...
Yellow and red...everyone else I know says black, but personally, black makes cars look smaller and harder to see their cuts and lines.
