What would be the 'recipe' for homemade windshield washer fluid?

Is is possible to make a homemade solution or do you have to buy it at a store?

One part vinegar to 3 parts water. Works equally to better than store bought.

I was just thinking to run my truck over to the dealer for a refill 'cause I'm of of WWF. Check this link out. They've got a discussion going on this topic.

We make our own windshield wash in large volume for an auto repair shop. In one gallon container we mix 3 quarts water with 1 quart methanol and a few drops of soap/colorant.

During the summer we use all water and  few drops of soap/colorant.

This type of professional concentrated product makes 55 gallons of washer fluid.

Mix a puch of shampoo in the container along with 1-2 ltrs of water. This thing is not at all going to harm the windshield and will make the water smoother for no scratches.

The best window cleaner is dilluted vinegar (like answered earlier). Take regular plain distilled white vinegar and dillute it about 4:1, water to vinegar, and spray it on the desired window. Find some newspaper and crumble it up and use it like you would a paper towel it works amazingly well.
