   What was your first motorcycle?
   
   I am a little embarrassed to admit that mine was a Suzuki FA50 but at least you can only improve from there right?

   A  Yamaha 350 with 6 gears and a top speed of 200 Kmph. Unfortunately the bike can no more be seen around these days with improved roads.

   Just before my 16th birthday in 1963, I bought for, £5, my first motor bike, an early  (1953) BSA 125 Bantam 2stroke.  I had great fun learning how to strip the thing down, clean all the workings, give it a decoke, replace the piston rings and gudgeon pin, the big end and re-assembling it, and it still worked.  About a year later, with one of my mates and his ancient Bantam,we merged the 2 into a V twin 250, with high-comp heads and low ratio gears, we ran it on + gas and Castrol-R, went like a rocket for a couple of months, but the blew up., great fun though.

      That is pretty impressive.  I never liked working on bikes as much as riding them.

      Ah, but we were engineer apprentices and had all the hand tools, lathes, and mills to get it done, our boss saw it as all part of our training.

   A Honda QR50 at aged 7, quite a few in between and I ride a ZX6R now.

      They paved the way for kids motocross bikes. I'm looking to get one and restore it then my kids will have one. The qr50 build quality is proven by how you can still get great secondhand ones.
