How do you handle commuter traffic on a day-to-day basis?
I have commuted to the San Francisco Bay Area for several years. Most of the time I found it was my best time to think. In a busy stressed out world it is definitely one way to slow you down.
I live in a small town in Montana now, so no traffic to speak of - dodging deer is the biggest obstacle.
But years ago, when I lived in So. Calif. I drove about 30 miles to work, and like you used that time to unwind and think on the way home...and gear up for work on the way in, planning what I wanted to accomplish that day. I never really minded the commute. Part of it was through Malibu canyon so it was a pretty drive.
I have driven in bumper to bumper traffic on the LA freeways and that drove me nuts. I could not do that on a daily basis.
