What do you think of the HMMWV's replacement - the JLTV?
The Humvee, ubiquitous workhorse of the US military since 1985 has been replaced with the JLTV. Call me a traditionalist, but I just don't like how the JLTV looks. When the M-151A MUTT was replaced by the HMMWV, it was a beautiful change; this isn't.
I just saw one on the road the other day (I work near an Army base). It surprised me because I did not think they were coming out so soon. It look tough, most so than the humvee. I hope it is. I did note it had a higher suspension than the humvee, and is probably more armored beneath the drivers compartment.
Wow, lucky you! Wish I could get up- close to one. You're right about the suspension. The humvee looks like a baby next to the JLTV cos it is the little bro of the MRAPS (manufactured by the same company). It's got the same level of protection also.
