Is it my battery or my alternator
I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport and it wont start unless it is jumped. The gauge inside the cab says the battery is charging but once I shut it off its dead. The lights dont dim as I drive it so I'm inclined to think battery, but had it tested and its good.
goto Autozone, they will check your alternator for free in the parking lot
We used to disconnect the positive cable from the battery while the car was running. Today the cars electronics are more sophisticated so its not advisable however if the car dies its the alt.
