Updated on July 6, 2014

Stimulus Funds Increasing Jobs in Orange County

The ARRA Stimulus Funds did not create only government jobs, as some pundits and politicians claimed would occur.

The infrastructure and work related programing permitted by the additional money helped to double the number of jobs in Irvine, California during the 18 months leading up to October 2010. These 59,000 jobs in and around Irvine are in Finance, Insurance, Communications, Retail, and Healthcare and extend into Yorba Linda as well. these are largely not government jobs. The Stimulus helped to create jobs in Orange County.

Within 25 miles of Yorba Linda, jobs are also open in number among Irvine, Long Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Riverside, Newport Beach, Orange, and Ontario CA.

These are not fast food jobs or ditch-digging jobs. These job listings are for career-jobs at a well-paying income level in Sales (some related to Tourism), Finance, and other professions, despite political ads to the contrary broadcast during mid-term elections campains during Autumn 2010.

Yorba Linda Development

Compared to the 1920s photo above, Yorba Linda is a metropolis in the 2010s. It is located near Los Angeles, and near other growing cities in Orange County.

The complete history to date of Yorba Linda, with a timeline, is online at The Yorba Linda Public Library.

Founded circa 1834 by a second generation Spaniard named Yorba, after receivinga land grant related to his father's exploration of the region. Yorba's adobe house stood in place until 1927 demolition.

Populated with only about 35 people in 1911, Yorba Linda is home in 2010 to approximately 70,000 individuals. Stimulus Funding under ARRA has apparently increased jobs in the locale since 2009.

I can see how stimulus could help a small place such as Yorba, but I can also see how it would help in major lands as well. Hopefully, this new year we will see the benefit of it in the employment arena because from what I hear, this year ends the stimulus. It's good to see positions such as Home Health Aides and Medical Assistants somewhat hight on the job list for California. Sometimes, you just do not know what to believe as many post on the internet saying how long they have been unemployed, in California, for such those positions. Texas is another that I read about. One couple, in particular, moved there due to a job promised and when they got there, no job was available (this after being promised the job). But, that one example of Yorba shows it can be done, when our leaders do what they say they will do and not just speak empty words. Voted and rated.
