HGi, hazelbrown - Colorado is lovely as well; I had an aunt who lived there happily for meny years. As for teaching in Maine, I did not find a large number of teaching jobs advertised in the state, but I did find about 100 openings for professional tutors at Wyzant Tutoring and several instructors at Colby College in Waterville.

I'm originally from Maine, now living in Colorado, and I would love to move back there! It's wonderful for so many things: raising kids, gardening, experiencing the ocean... but I don't see teaching on your list of high-demand jobs. Oh well... guess I'll just have to create my own job! :-)

I had a friend that used to vacation near the coastline in the autumn of the year for several year and really liked it there. I hope more jobs become available there soon.
