VoIP business solutions for saving money on telephone costs

Updated on March 14, 2011

My advice is that Voice Over Internet Protocol technology or VoIP business solutions is an alternative phone service, which has become really popular over the recent years due to its money saving features and many other advantages listed below. There are a lot of popular VOIP brand services already available in the markets that provide cheap phone services for saving money on telephone costs. Small and large-scale businesses and even private individuals at home are using VoIP phone services for a flat monthly bill regardless of local calls, long distance calls, or international calls and thereby saving more money on their telephone costs.

Another feature of saving money with VoIP business solutions is that many VOIP service providers allow their users to use old standard phones with their service and then a user is able to call on any telephone or cellphone in the world, which is connected via a landline public phone system, so at the end, the users save money by not having to finance or purchase costly IP phones for using this service.

Defining VOIP phone for business services

There are different types of VOIP services, which are popularly used, but the type, which is most readily used for business work, is VOIP that is completed with the use of analog tele-phone adapter or an ATA The use of ATAs or analog telephone adapters allow the users to use a standard phone for their VOIP services instead of using IP Phones that are used with other forms of voice over IP services and should be plugged into a PC router with microphone or speakers that are used for PC-to-PC Voice over IP services.

In VoIP system, the user simply plugs the telephone into an ATA adapter instead of plugging it into a wall phone jack. The ATA or analog telephone adapter converts analog signals into a series of digital voice packets that are sent over an Internet connection mostly broadband where these digital voice packets are then delivered to appropriate phone exchanges in order to service and complete the user’s call.

What are other advantages of Voice over IP over traditional phone services?

Though I have discussed the advantages of VoIP phones over traditional phones in my previous phone tips hubs or articles but this is the most common question, which is asked by new VoIP phone users who want to try voice over IP services for the first time.

It is important to note that including cost saving features of VoIP phone solutions, there are many other advantages of VoIP phones and its services because a number of businessmen are choosing Voice over IP services over traditional public telephone system. Hello Mr. Myers, thanks for your visit. Sorry for my delayed reply. VOIP is always cost efficient than other systems and this is the reason why most small scale and large scale businesses are switching over to this. Go ahead and try VOIP. You will never regret.

Thanks for the great article. Ive been considering using a VoiP for my company for the past few months. I am just a small business owner and I am wondering if it is the right fit for me. I have a few friends who own their own small businesses and they claim to have found it very helpful. It seems like a great way to allow me to conduct business on my own terms without worrying about answering the phone, Im just not sure it will be cost efficient.

Thanks a lot ocbill and Veronica for your comments.

I also looking for some reviews on VoIP phones from people who have practically used this system. I know that Vonage VoIP internet service provider is the best one but there are many other service providers which are providing more features and cost savings for the users. I will publish some hubs on how to choose VoIP service prodivers and list of top VoIP service providers today itself.

After going through all the details and the research done, I have not doubt that VoIP solutions are not good for any business but I think if security threats and concerns are handled well by understanding and implementing VoIP security solutions by the VoIP users, no other telephone system could be much cost saving than VoIP.
