Why Procrastinate and you360

Do you feel and look like this?
Do you feel and look like this?

How to change procrastination now?

Preview-13. In the last article, I said it was hard to stick to your DMO whenever you lie to yourself and procrastinate about your daily activity. It's hard when you loose focus. It's hard when you get out of balance. It's hard when you loose control of your daily tasks and become overwhelmed.

Whenever you feel this happening, when you feel yourself becoming overwhelmed, just stop. Just slow down and regroup. You can't go on if you’re not in control of your actions. There’s only one way to overcome the bad habit of procrastination.

Be serious about your business!

If your really serious about becoming a better you, and building your business. Then you have to tackle this procrastination habit head on. You can't go over it, under it or around it. You have to face it head on. Lets face it, the number one reason why you procrastinate in the first place is because you're not comfortable doing whatever it is that you don't want to do or you don't like to do. Right? Be honest with yourself here. Don't lie to yourself.

To overcome that uncomfortable feeling, you first have to learn to do the uncomfortable things until they become comfortable. In other words, do the things you don't like to do, the hard things, the uncomfortable things ...do them first. When you do those things first, now they’re out of the way. Whenever you get the hard things out of the way, you'll begin to feel better about yourself. You'll pull yourself out of the slump. You'll help yourself get going again and move in the right direction. You'll get motivated and get back into the action mode. Remember what we said about self-motivation?

See, that's all a habit is. It's something you find comfortable doing. Something that you do over and over, again and again, until it becomes routine. And it doesn't matter if it's a bad habit or a good habit, because all habits are equal. Bad or good, all habits are equal.

Tackle the uncomfortable stuff first!

So, starting today, rather than putting stuff off, why not make the positive decision to tackle that stuff head on. Do the things that you don't like to do ...do them first. Why not replace the bad habit of procrastination with the new habit of intense activity. You'll begin to see a big change with intense activity, consistent activity and positive action. You'll see positive results in your self-confidence and your business. Because, when you get your self-confidence way up here, something magical happens. You begin to feel good about yourself. And the better you feel about yourself, the better you perform. The better you perform, the better your rewards, both personal and financial.

Why not start right now, tonight, right after you finish reading this article or at least sometime before the end of the day. Why not make the conscious decision and put your action plan to paper. Remember what was said about writing it down? Again. Begin right now and write down the things you've been putting off.

Whether it's paying the bills. Making that hard call, sending out those follow up emails, working on that next news letter, putting together next months promotion or advertising or just taking the time to point that special prospect to your website. See, that's what it's all about. Action, action, action! The positive activity will make you feel better about yourself and get you moving in the right direction.

Make a promise to yourself to take responsibility!

Now, here comes the hard part. You have to make a promise to yourself that you will not take on any new responsibilities until you get all the old stuff out of the way. That's a have too!

Let me tell you something, when you finally get that monkey off your back, your really going to feel good about yourself. You're going to feel great about yourself and your business. Your going to feel invigorated and feel incredible satisfaction about yourself and your ability.

Now don't stop there. Take advantage of that feeling and let that feeling tackle the next project. Then the next …then the next! Just keep it going and pretty soon you'll be all caught up. Guess what? Now that you're all caught up. Now you're even! Now you can think. Now you can get that weight off of your shoulders and you can focus on what has to be done. Now you're in charge and you can now focus on your business. Now you can focus on your DMO and have some fun with your business because your backs not against the wall anymore. Now you're in control and organized.

It is hard to think straight when you’re overwhelmed!

Because, let's face it, it's hard to think straight when you're overwhelmed, out of focus and don't have any direction. You can't stay focused on your DMO when you have all that stuff, all that clutter, all that unfinished business and so many things piled up that you start putting them off.

You can't get fired up about getting them done or completing a job that needs to be finished when you out of focus and disorganized.

You see, until you really understand how these habits have affected you in the past, how they effect you now and how they will affect your future. Not only in your personal life but also in your business. Not until that light bulb goes off and you really understand, experience and you really appreciate what procrastination is and what procrastination does to your business, including you as an individual and to you as a person; and what it does in your daily life and how it sabotages everything you do. Until you completely understand that. You'll never get to that next level. That higher level, that level of success you're seeking and deserve.

So for now, there you go...now you have the scoop on procrastination. Do the hard things first, do the things you don't want to do, do them first and always do the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable.

Next you360-14
