How long is your commute to and from the office?

I was sitting in the subway today and wondered how much time everyone spends commuting to and from work. Now you work from home folks and take a break and need not reply. My commute is approximate 1hr 45mins each way using a subway, a train and a bus and that time is door to door so 3.5hrs each day spent commuting. Yes, I read and listen to music to relax but at the end of the week it all catches up to me making weekends extremely short.

Depending upon the traffic on Interstate 10 in Tucson, my 15 mile commute to and from work takes from 30 to 45 minutes each way.  For the past 6 years or more various sections of I-10 and I-19 that I travel on have been under construction for widening, changing interchanges, etc. and this has added to the commuting time.  In the absence of construction I the trip each way could probably be be reduced by five or ten minutes.

It depends on the mode of transport in metro it takes 35mins. to get there and add 1hour more if one travel by bus because traffic in Delhi makes the condition worse and red lightes! Countless sometime.

35-60mins sounds reasonable for Delhi. I've only seen pictures of the traffic over there :-/

I suppose 1  3//4 hours for office workers is ok as they don't do any real work except let their backsides wear out upholstery.  Before I retired I was a practical engineer which was a physically demanding job, my commute was about 10 minutes each way, I don't think I could have worked efficiantly had it been much more.

I did real work between office jobs and loved it. Alas, I was trained to be a cog in the corporate machinery and trying to break free!! You forgot, wasting 30mins at the water cooler swapping fake niceties - could do better work from home anyways ;-)

My commuting time is about 30 seconds on a bad day. I live right above my place of work and wouldn't have it any other way ever again. In previous employements, I had to spend up to 3 hours a day in commuting time. Never again ! smile

Fifteen minutes. A two bedroom apartment near work. However, the university I attend is an hour away.

On my scooter it takes me 3-5 minutes depending if I have to wait for a few cars at the corners ! It is a nice ride partly along the lake with no traffic lights etc !
