   Fast food restaurants typically pay their employees minimum wage or slightly higher.  That is definitely not enough to live on.  Of course, it is a great job for someone just starting to get into the work force as long as they still live with their parents or live in a college dorm.  Also, some companies give their employees a free meal, which is a great benefit for an entry level position.
   
   Once someone has worked a while at a fast food chain, that person can often go on to be a manager, which has fairly decent pay.  I do know people that are managers at restaurants and make enough money to pay rent, bills, etc.

      Big places like New York were the cost of lving is very high shoul be regulated so you can afford to work and life. Maybe changing the minimum wage sttanard would help.

   Absolutely not. It may be a good job for high school students living at home, but not for someone who has to support a family.

      Goody5 there are people in this world that are working at fast food places and trying to raise a family because that's all the kind of work they can find but they need some kind of income so what do they do

   No they don't.  But unfortunately everything is relative.  If they pay their workers more, prices for the fast food will go up significantly - and they will lose business. It seems like a puzzle with no solution.

   After working there, no. It's not enough to live on. You have to have two or three roommates just to afford a place to live. The cell phone bill cannot be over $50. It's best to have a car that only cost $40 to fill up. I could mostly only afford eating at Taco Bell, breadsticks at Pizza Hut, and McDonalds. Thank God I got a complementary meal with each 5 hours of work. Otherwise, food would have cost more of a fortune. If something goes wrong, you have no savings to help you with.

      I understand what your saying fast food employees in New York ar talking about a strike and in this world you need to have some kid of job to fuctionin this word.

   Generally speaking no many fast food workers do not get paid enough. But in Spain for workers of Macdonald's there is a minimum wage of around $27.00 dollars per hour.

      Yes that is United States Dollar. Or £12 pounds per her in British currency or around 10 Euros per hour.

      Yes the cost of living is higher but in many parts of Spain the quality of life is said to be good. Food and Clothing and accommodation cost the most. Many of the Spanish authorities have been working to purge out low pay from Spain.
