Use social media. Create a Facebook Page for your store and upload photos of best selling items, post updates on store news and sales. Use Twitter to connect with parents and create dialogue about your store and why it's better than your competitors.

Put out press releases online to boost traffic.

I've got tons of material on marketing online on my blog if you're interested: http://www.sparkplugging.com/marketing

Create a huge buzz (word of mouth) and grab attention by giving away a low priced but very intriguing gadget or toy. Go for 100,000 units and ask customers to only pay shipping and handling...  catch all names and emails for further follow-up.  (Essential)   Geoff D.

The best way to market an online toy store is to put links on other sites and use Google adsense keywords, Google Ad words. It will make a lot visitors on your sites.

Have a special safe every so often, show "normal" prices on your site striked out and "special prices" in red. Try to always have the correct stock shown on the page. You don't want to be rushing at last minute to get an order shipped out because you are lacking products. These are important in my experience.
