There are many programs online to make money, such as MLM, Direct Marketing, bloggin, article writing etc, but out of all the programs I think affiliate marketing is the best and most straight forward method to earn money.  What do you think? If you have an opinion about any other method you think is the best please let us know.

Affiliate marketing is hands down the best way to make money on the internet. As affiliate marketers, we are building a bridge between the customers and the producers. Engineering that bridge is the easy part, but getting people to use your bridge is where we meet the challenge!

I totally agree about affiliate marketing being the best way to make money. I have lost so much money on BS programs, but once I started affiliate marketing, I really started doing well. Check the links on my hub to my website, where I started putting together some resources on making money online.

MLM can be absolutely horrible, but if it is a product that you will actually use and enjoy using, without destroying your own wallet, then marketing it should come easily and naturally. If not, at least you enjoy the product.

the premise of marketing is IMO, based on direct sales in one market or in the marketplace -as a kiosk. The Kiosk concept reminds me of affiliate or indirect marketing.

I do training for marketing and often wonder what attracts people to the kiosk and if they are a catalyst for the mini-markets in the big mall, so to speak.

Selling your own product online is the best I have found.

I do like affiliate marketing, but for real income, I'm for marketing my own product online without allowing affiliate sales and running my own advertising campaigns.

I may consider allowing affiliate sales on my second product, after release to my subscribers list first of course. smile

I think the key to marketing is to find a good platform to build from.

If you have to implement too many different programs to create a campaign from you (well, I) can get too frazzled.

I like my business programs to more one-stop-shopping type.

      Hi!

Affiliate marketing, or, selling own products, or, selling advertising spaces like Adsense...you should know one technique to become successful- traffic generation.

If you want to be successful with affiliate marketing you need to get a lot of traffic. And if you can bring that amount of traffic to your affiliate site which can really make you successful then you better sell your own products and make many more profit than with affiliate products.

Affiliate marketing becomes a good way of making money if you don't know how to create your own products.

purpose of doing affiliate marketing. it certainly can be done. however it takes an exisiting web site getting alot of traffic, or a lot of behind the scenes work. but yes you can make money with affiliate marketing if you "drive" it home!
Personally I feel the best way is to create your own product like an ebook, and then you have many ways of getting it sold like through click bank or something. I dont like to type thats the only reason im not doing this. but it does put you in ther drivers seat.

Right on! MLM in theory is to give you leverage off of other people's efforts, so that you make money with less of your efforts.

In reality in mlm, when you're building a downline, it's going to take a lot of building till you find the right people who are serious about building the business with you. MLM and Network marketing is just a different side of affiliate marketing. You don't own the company and you don't own the products.

Network marketing coupled with regular affiliate marketing is a very powerful thing and is the only reason I'm making the kind money I'm making.

Yes, I make 80% of my money off affiliate sales. I make 50% per sale. No I'm not going to share who they are, sorry.

However I am trying to make much more with adsense. Or at least make 40% of my sales from that. You should never rely on any one thing.

I know many who built websites for particular sponsors, made all their money from them. Now those sponsors are folding, taking their money and running. Leaving the affiliates to start over from scratch.

ALWAYS diversify, nothing last long on the net. In a few years the net will be so, so different. You have to keep changing. So keep as many different $$ avenues as you can, even if it's all from the net. wink

      Video Blogging
      Regular Blogs
      E-Books
e-Stores, either your own or someone elses, think Amazon aStore and Online Malls
Direct Marketing of chosen or one's own product
Buying goods and then selling through eBay
      Article and Freelance writing
Website 'flipping' (buy a web site for one price and sell it at a higher price, usually within a short time frame)

Yet the broadest appeal, with the most likely lowest entry point is affiliate marketing.

There are many forms of affilliate marketing and as many ways to implement them.

As Kanga pointed out, there are many other ways to make money online too, some of them can be spectacular earners, but almost all are high risk.

I say spread yourself across several methods so that you don't dump most of your income when something happens beyond your control in one market.
In an ever changing environment this is prudent in business online or off.

PPC is fantastic! But only when you are as good at it as someone like Perry Marshall is!

If I didn't love doing my services so much I would probably drop them. they take a lot of time and work to market them and keep them running, but the journey is awesome.

I guess when it comes to affiliate marketing its a two sides coin.

Firstly, I am not a salesperson, so how can I sell a product which I know is profitable, I find someone who has the product and knows how to sell it and I recieve the commision.

      Yay, that's good.

But as most people are saying here and on the web. Selling your own product or having affiliates sell yours is where the money lies.

Usually you will make a good commision from products on clickbank, up to 70% which means you are making more than the owner. But the owner can then make more money on the back end which is where I believe the money is and what makes affiliate marketing great.

    28. JMPruitt profile image61
      JMPruittposted 14 years ago

although I agree with you to a point Jackson, many product owners I know are making their money on the back end by marketing affiate products. Many of them give away such high commissions because the real reason behind owning their products is to build a list of buyers.

but, they are still making most of their money as affiliates, they just found a way to target their customers better.

        1. Find a product that sells

        2. Set up a WordPress blog and write informative posts about topic relevant to your affiliate product (pre-selling). Add useful and relevant content to your blog daily or at-least 3 times a week.

        3.  Create hubs and lenses and point them towards your blog (link building).

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to market online, but the biggest mistake that most affiliates make is that they have no clue on how to implement the marketing in the affiliate, hahaha.

      To succeed online, you must:

      1) Brand yourself as the expert
2)Provide the solution to why 97% are failing
      3) Provide a system for them to implement to cure their failures

You must make sure you do these things, otherwise you will fail everytime in affiliate marketing. This type of marketing CAN be a great way to earn extra income, but just make sure you do 1-3.

Affiliate marketting as a term covers different things. There are two main tyupes -

Affiliate marketing can be a site that has many product sellers on one side and many marketers advertising the products that they select from the site lists. The commission rate varies according to the profit margin in the porduct x the auction price of the advert.  A mid selling product in numbers and price may not be such an attractive sale as a high volume sales product with a high price which can lower its commission rate and still get high numbers of people showing their advert.

Hubpages is an affiliate slaes setup at base, we are all HP little marketers and HP have just 4 suppliers, Google, Amazon, Kontera and ebay ( I think?)  We pay HP a percentage, or we buy the platform space from HP, whichever way you like to think of it.

The other kind is directly affiliated to one supplier for their range of products - such as I describe in my single hub which is not hard to find : )

I've been in affiliate marketing for many years. You need to pick a legit company that has an easy sell. I've been killing it with celltradeusa's affiliate program since Verizon Wireless came out with the iphone. You get paid for getting people out of cell phone contracts... That's an easy sell...

So make sure you pick an affiliate program that pays good and actually has something people wan't.

Affiliate marketing is truly a great way to earn money indeed.

You speak about bloging and article marketing like it is the same category. You see bloging and article marketing are ways to drive trafic to your offers, whether it is your own product or product you promote as an affiliate. You can incorporate affiliate marketing with bloging or article marketing.

The best way to use traffic is to promote free products (anything from ebook, software, video, report etc) in form of landing page with sign up form. In that way you will gather email addressees from your subscribers. Then you can promote your affiliate offers again and again via simply email. I mean this is smart strategy when you look at long term benefits. It is something worth considering.

I quite agree, the best way to make money on line is through affiliate marketing, but the stumbling block has always being how to get converted traffic and people run away basically because of this, but those that persist and are determined are super affiliates. Article marketing helps affiliate marketer to get their products known to the world.
