You could try to network with professionals in your area who work with people in transition. People typically buy a house because of a life-changing event. They get married (find wedding planners to locate new couples), the move into the area (talk to employers that make new hires from out-of-state), they have a baby (post notices in apartment buildings where young couples live), etc.
