    Do you agree with the way in which performance management is carried out in your company?

    Many companies are increasingly putting pressure on individual employees to b more efficient and deliver more for less.  Performance management and target based mentality is widespread, is this adding stress to your life?

    This is why i recommend young people not be so GUNG-HO about going to college. If i was young, I would place my efforts to starting my own business.   Modern companies are increasingly implementing some hardcore performance monitoring systems. One of them is called "six-sigma".  It is a Japanese quality control system that has six japanese words that start with the letter "S."  Each item is another category of performance that is SCRUTINIZED.  No human being should be subjected to this type of computer controlled abuse. 

    I worked at AT&T and was subjected to SEVERE mental abuse from that (six-sigma) system.  I ended up quitting that job as a Central Office Technician making $32.00 per hour... and had to go to another company starting at $10.00 per hour!  I also lost my chances at a good retirement plan and I am 55 years old so that hurt my family a lot.  However, I would not go back to AT&T because MONEY ISN"T EVERYTHING.  Anyone out there dealing with this problem I know how you are suffering. I recommend looking for another job with a company that does not use mental abuse tactics with their employees.
