I work for a Corporation and I am a Temp. My position plays a huge role, I have been here almost....
a year. they are not taking any action in hiring me. How should I go about asking to get hired?
You have to be careful. They probably know that they have some exposure if they employ you full-time for a long period of time as a temp. The question is do you report to work at their office? Do they provide you the tools you work with? Do they instruct you what to do? The more oversight the more likely it is that they are violating the contract labor law. So you should just start out with cheerful inquiries about job postings. They know what their plans are but if you get too aggressive then they may abruptly terminate you out of fear of a lawsuit. Do they have a website with job postings? You can check that out. Also are their other contract workers? If they have a large amount then it means they are trying to skate by and minimize benefits while maintaining the flexibility to downsize without having to pay severance or unemployment benefits.
