How to Focus on Your Job When You're Distracted by Co-Workers

Many jobs require you to work in an environment that is not necessarily ideal or condusive to peak performance.  How do you remain focused and not distracted?  How do you avoid getting sucked into gossip sessions, office politics, etc?

Do the old salesman trick. Just simply nod your head to everything but don't say a word. Most of the gossip and politics will end when there isn't an audience. Sooner or later people will realize that you're either boring to talk to or have no interest in what they're saying. Eventually, they'll stop bugging you.
    Cool question!

Office gossips are bound to happen and there is no way you can stop them, however if you present yourself as an individual least interested in office gossips, your colleagues will stop including you in their mess. One best way is to stop giving any reaction good or bad, as the gossip mongers are really hungry for reactions, incase you don't react it means that you are not their type and they will eventually stop including you in their conversation.

Now if the same is happening in your own cubicle then you need to follow certain generic steps written in this article.
