    How do you get started selling your art?

    I've been painting a lot, but never wanted to sell. I give my art as gifts, and of course it has been filling up my walls. Now I'm ready to sell... where do I start??

    There are a lot of places online that help artists sell their art (imagekind.com being one) - kind of like etsy but for artists, I believe.

    There is also a website that helps you set up your own site within their website - faso.com (Fine Art Studio Online).

    Galleries typically charge a 40% commission which is a lot, but if you get to be good enough to be accepted by a gallery then you have the openings and all the marketing that goes with being represented by one.

    Haven't checked out any of these things in depth so hope I have my facts somewhat straight here - at least it's a start.

    www.starvedartists.com is a great place for photography but they also have other art as well (I believe)
