What is the difference between reserved and unreserved inventory in internet marketing?
Reserved ad inventory usually refers to ad impressions that are sold directly by a web site to its own advertisers. Unreserved inventory are ad impressions that are served up via a third-party ad network (and thus, sold by them to their own advertisers or further sub-syndicated from their own partner's networks).
Web sites and bloggers may have more page views (and hence, ad impressions) than they can reasonably sell themselves, so often backfill with unreserved inventory.
