Will you be supporting any local businesses on Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday comes right in the middle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Will you be making a special effort at patronizing any local businesses on that day?
We should all be supporting small businesses on any given day. Anyone who can make a living from creating a job for themselves should be supported and cherished.
I don't know what Small Business Saturday is (im in Australia) but I try to shop and use the services of small businesses whenever I can. I am a small business owner and know how tough it can be.
It definitely can be tough! Small Business Saturday started about 3 years ago in the US. It is the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and tries to give small businesses some of the major support large retailers are getting the day before on Black Friday.

I remember when I was growing up in a community where there were small community supermarkets and appliance stores all around the town. There were Drug stores and hardware stores, bakeries, and fish markets in walking distance all over town. Walmart drove almost all of those small business...

You need to have a plan and find the tools to start up. With the days of “having a job for life” firmly behind us now, the online environment is helping to transform initial thoughts of business start up in to a more realistic goal which an ever increasing population can attain.
