How much gold exists in the private and public sectors of America?
I don't know specifically for America, but I can say that, according to Warren Buffet, the current global amount of gold is about 170,000 metric tons.
That's a value of about $9.6 trillion if gold remains evaluated at $1,750 an ounce.
