Are leaders born or made?
Is it possible to learn to be a leader through education, training, or experience? Or is the ability to lead a talent one must be born with?
Both. There are those who were born with special predispositions to lead others. Yet it is very much possible to learn to be a leader through education, training, and experience. John Maxwell has had a huge impact teaching others how to lead. His first point is that attitude defines altitude. Any person with the right attitude can apply themselves to do just about anything including learning the fine art of leadership.
Leadership should be identified and defined depending on the individual: their skills, their intelligence, their expertise, their know-how. We all need to work on and hone our skills. However, not everyone can be made to be a leader.
