A Hubtastic Summer: My Summer Goals on HubPages

Updated on July 18, 2012

Summer is Here!

For me, summer has not started yet but is right around the corner. With only a few days of school left, it's time for me to figure out what I want to do. I am working at a summer camp on weekdays for 2 hours which leave me with 22 hours left on the clock to accomplish something; who needs sleep anyways? I have been lurking around HubPages reading hubs, answering questions and other things you can do on HubPages, but I haven't had time to write hubs. Checking in on my stats and earnings on a daily basis means that I have plenty of things that I can do on HubPages to improve my stats. Below is just some of the things I hope to accomplish on HubPages this summer.

Reach Payout

One of the top things on my list of summer goals is to reach payout and I'm sure you want to reach this goal as well. My monthly earnings have reached a plateau during the time were I didn't write any hubs. At my current rate, I am set to reach payout by the end of August which basically means I'll get paid in September. I hope boost up my earnings so that my payout is reached by the end of July which will give me some additional PayPal spending money. I should hopefully accomplish this goal with some of the goals I will be mentioning below.

Complete the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge

This is one of the goals that should help me reach payout as I have discovered from reading the forums and other hubbers' hubs. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, but the lack of time has forced me to wait it out. I did, however, attempt this a few months ago (sort of). I tried to write articles that I can always use and save them to post when I decided to take the challenge. This attempt wasn't successful because it was hard for me to come up with timeless post ideas, something that many online content creators, or content creators period may have trouble doing. I will try to start this sometime in July after my vacation, but as I mentioned before, I still need to come up with some content ideas.

Earn Accolades

There are a few accolades that I would like to accomplish over the summer. Instead of making new sections for each, I decided to put them in on place. Here are the accolades I would like to accomplish:

50 Hubs- At the moment I have 22 published hubs. By the end of the summer I hope to have 50. For me, this is a good goal because I've been sitting around 20 hubs forever and I think I should give my numbers I bit of a boost. If I accomplish my 30 in 30 challenge, I will have this one wrapped up. Also, this is another goal that can help with my payout goal.

50 Questions Answered/ Made- I'm not much of a question person. I've answered and asked a few here and there, but nothing major. This is a goal that I am hoping can help the HubPages community and it can also be a hard one. I don't want to ask question that don't have much meaning or purpose, and I also don't want to be a person that comments on questions I am not genuinely interested in. I think this goal will be much harder than the rest.

Engaging Writer- The final of my summer goals is to achieve the Engaging Writer accolade. I have already receive the Popular accolade ( I have no idea how), and this is goal that can help me and the community.

Let's Get Started!

Ok, so now I have told everyone on HubPages, or at least those of you who are reading this, what I want to do this summer. Hopefully this can help me achieve what I want because none of us want to look live quitters or giver-uppers(?). For me, my summer range will be from July 1st to August 31st which is 2 months. I do have a bit of time out of school on either sides of those dates, but that's a simple way to put it. I will also be posting updates in regards to my progress with my goals so you can keep up with what I'm doing.

Thanks SkySlave, I agree with you in that we all have similar goals and I appreciate your support. Maybe we can work with each other somehow. I decided to write things down because it always helps to share your goals because I feel it gives you more of a reason to complete them. Why would I write them down so everyone can see and not make a good effort towards completing them?

I wish you success here on HubPages

Hey CloudExplorer, thanks for coming to visit my hub. After looking at the comments I left on your hub, I realised I may have come across in a bad way. I respect your beliefs, but I do enjoy a bit of debate when it comes to topics like that where no one is right. I have been reading your hubs and I felt the need to comment on that particular one. Also, thanks for sharing my hub as I have seen an increase in views since. It would be great if we could settle our differences and become friends here on HubPages. We all have different views on things, but we share common goals here.

Awesome set of goals! My goals here on hubpages are fairly similar to yours. The biggest part is sticking to it and enjoying yourself. I can't tell you how much smoother writing comes to you when your having a great time doing it. Best of luck achieving your goals!

Voted up bro, and getting shared across all of my networks, you never know who you will meet here, and what they can do for you here as well, and with that said.

Cheers to awesome hub writing, and to sharing with everyone fairly.

I just got done reading this cool hub of your about your performance here and hub goals and all. I see that you decided later in your hubpages career here to change the frequency of your hubpages activities overall, and I commend you on doing such this summer, and also being motivated enough to give it all a try.

Here reading your writing, you appear to be a cool person, I wrote to you on my hub you recently posted two comments on, and so I do see now why your accolades area seems a bit shy of certain stats, that many active hubbers tend to gain as they grow and develop as a hubpages community member here.

My message to you I had left there, is in no way meant to create tension between us, it is more like advise, because people have the right to believe in what they choose today, just as you have every right to decide when and how you see fit to change your hub writing efforts, and overall communications with people here, and in every way for that matter.

I hope we can become friends here, and we can find some sort of way to set aside our differences of opinion, and stick more to the collaborative efforts of hubbing for success as a much tighter bonded community.

Your experience on hubpages even though it hasn't been an intense one yet is worth true value to the online world, and others like me and you, and for this I'm also proud of your performance you've been working on this summer even despite all of the life situations that may have prevented you from fully embracing the writing and sharing platform they offer here. Please don't take my message I left you on my hub the wrong way.

I can only wish you more success here on hubpages, and beyond Redwards, good luck and until we meet again potentially in another hubpages active area.

Good luck!! I really want to try the 30 in 30 challenge to but need to chose a time when I know I have enough time to write. Your lucky to have time off from school, i miss being a student sometimes! I hope you reach your goals!
