How do you make money on Hubpages?

If you are new to Hubpages then you may wonder how it is you actually make money from this site. You may also be wondering ‘is Hubpages a scam?’

Well I can tell you from personal experience that you can make money from Hubpages and that it is no scam.

Hubpages is in essence an article directory. All you have to do is join Hubpages, for free, and then you write articles for Hubpages and these articles can make you money. Before you can make money from your Hubs you will have to join Google Adsense. Then you will have to allow Hubpages to earn a 50% cut of your Google Adsense earnings. You do not have to worry though it is all easy to do Hubpages goes through what you have to do in a very easy step-by-step way. Every time a reader clicks on one of the Adsense adverts you get 50% of the ad-revenue and Hubpages gets 50%. Every Hub that is published contains Google Adsense adverts. Each ad placement is designed to be in a place that encourages the reader to click on it but is not obstructive or distracting therefore readers will be able to read your articles and then decide to click on the adverts.

What types of adverts are present?

The Google Adsense program chooses the adverts that appear on your Hubpages articles are contextually based. This means that whatever topic your article discusses will contain relevant adverts. The adverts chosen are usually based on the keywords that you use throughout your article so please pick your keywords carefully to maximise the CTR (Click through Rate).

How else can you make money?

As well as joining the Google Adsense program you may want to join the Amazon Associates program and the eBay affiliate program. Both of these programs will allow you to place affiliate links to products that are available through each company and you will earn a commission for each sale generated through your links. What you could do is go on to Amazon. Choose a product that is available through Amazon. Write a review about that product. Then create an affiliate link to that product.

There are other affiliate programs that you could also use Commission Junction is a very popular affiliate network and has hundreds of companies on their who want people to promote their products. If you were to sign up to commission junction you could have an even bigger number of products to advertise.

There are loads of different ways of making money through Hubpages these are just the beginning. Some people find ways of using Hubpages to generate and income that nobody else has thought of. Try a few different ways and see what works best for you.
