The HubPages Scene

As a HubPages writer, you want to keep your followers. You have earned them, so let's work to keep them as followers! Do not take your readers for granted as pressing the unfollow button is as easy as a click of the mouse button.

Keep your HubPages followers by publishing high-quality hubs, responding to the comments on your hubs left by other hubbers and by reading their hubs as well. These are great techniques to keep you in good form in the HubPages community!

Publish Valuable Hubs

A key way to keep your HubPages followers is to publish valuable hubs. Valuable material is current and interesting to the majority of your followers. While all of your connections will not be interested in every hub you produce, they generally are following you because they appreciate your writing style and at least some of the topics on which you write.

Keep the quality high in your hubs to keep followers interested in your work. A quality hub is free of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Be consistent in the quality of the hubs too; ensure that each hub is checked for spelling errors before you press the publish button. While the odd mistake can be overlooked, do your best to avoid glaring errors.

Yes, you will lose HubPages followers if you do not consistently publish quality, valuable hubs. Remember that HubPages is composed of writers! When you take time with your writing, it shows in your hubs; your followers appreciate the time and understand the work that went in to those hubs as they are writers themselves. When you put the effort into making your hubs the best that they can be, your readers are more likely to support you and stay with you as readers.

Respond To Hub Comments

Another way to keep your HubPages followers is to respond to comments left by these people on your hubs. While you may not be able to respond the same day or even the next day after the comment is made, the important point here is that you do respond.

Your followers understand that you are busy and cannot always respond right away to their comments. After all, they are busy writers themselves! When you do respond to a follower's comment, you are showing that person respect and appreciation for taking time to read your hub. While that person is a follower, he or she is not obligated to read and comment on every hub that you publish. Leave a comment in response to the message as your way to say thank-you for reading your hub.

When you do not respond to comments on your hubs, you risk losing those followers. They may wonder whether you have read their comments or even if you appreciate their reads. HubPages is built on interactions of writers and part of that interaction happens on your own hubs. Pay attention to your followers and show them respect by responding to comments that hubbers leave on your hubs; you are more likely to keep your HubPages connections.

Read The Hubs Of Your Followers

You also are more likely to keep your HubPages followers when you read their hubs and leave them comments. Just as you would like your readers to comment on your hubs, you do the same in turn for them.

When you interact with your followers, they are more likely to remember you. Your discussions in the comments section of the hubs create a friendship between you. They are less likely to press the unfollow button when you create a comradery with them. You appreciate one another and thus follow one another on HubPages.

Ensure your comments are respectful in nature. Leaving a rude comment may cause someone to stop following you on HubPages. Remember that rude is not the same as disagreeable; you can disagree with the hubber's points in the comments section but ensure you are respectful in the words you choose to use.

On A Personal Note

On a personal note, I would like to thank my HubPages followers who encourage me to write here.

I love to read your comments and how you interpret what I write. I have connected with many talented writers on HubPages and I am pleased to follow people who consistently publish great hubs.

Thank-you to my followers for connecting with me and thanks as well for continuing to inspire me with what you write on HubPages and with your comments on my own work.
