INTRODUCING YOU…TO ME...or ME TO YOU

Well, in case you don’t know, my name is Bill Holland, and I hail from Olympia, Washington. I am a member of HubPages, obviously, and I have been at this site now for a little over ten months.

During that time I have met some incredible people. Yes, they are also wonderful writers, but above all they are incredible people. They come from all walks of life and from practically every nation on Earth. They are doctors and lawyers, teachers and stay-at-home moms. They are married, divorced, employed and unemployed. They all have two things in common: they are all writers and they are all my friends.

You see, something remarkable happened to me ten months ago, and this series is a direct result of that remarkable happening. I joined HubPages in an attempt to “try out” a writing site. My plan was to toss out a few of my works, meet a few people, and maybe get some feedback that might help me as a writer.

To date, I have tossed out 302 works, I have met over 1,100 people, and my feedback totals 23,644 comments and counting.

I have decided to stick around for a little while.

This, then, is my way of saying thank you, and it is installment twenty-one in an ongoing love fest between me and the generous people who follow me on a regular basis.

I have received everything I had hoped for when I joined HubPages, but along the way I noticed that the other writers were no longer my peers….they had become my friends. We have shared joys and heartaches; we have laughed and we have cried. They know about my life and family and I know about theirs. It is a remarkable coming-together of kindred spirits who have never met and yet feel a bond with each other.

Enough with the introduction. If you want what I have, then get busy and become part of the community. Share, read, comment, inquire, trade ideas, and work together, and hopefully, one day, you will be as lucky as I am.

SAY HELLO TO DONNAH75

Okay, I’m going out on a limb, but I’m pretty sure her name is Donna, and you can find her at http://donnah75.hubpages.com/.

As I was scrolling through her hubs I noticed what eclectic tastes she has. She is a high school teacher, so there are obviously some teaching hubs, but she also touches upon a wide variety of other subjects.

What I know for certain is that when she comments she takes the time to leave meaningful comments; she obviously reads the hub and then takes the time to share her thoughts on the hub. As a teacher I know she is rushed for time, but that never stops her from giving support, and I respect that.

MY VERY FIRST COMMENT RECEIVED

Talk about being early for the party. My next guest was the very first Hubber to leave a comment on one of my hubs ten months ago. As such, she deserves her own pedestal in the Hall of Fame, because I can tell you that first hub was awful. Why it has taken me this long to include her in this series will forever be a mystery. Say hello to Deborah-Diane and you can find her here http://deborah-diane.hubpages.com/.

What can I say about a person who would take the time to comment on the first hub written by a newbie? Generous comes to mind…..gracious comes to mind….caring comes to mind. Well, she is all those things and I will be eternally grateful that she took the time to encourage me that first day.

A RAY OF SUNSHINE

Here is another lady who somehow has slipped between the cracks. I don’t know how this happens, but I’m guessing it has something to do with old age. Her name is Sunnie Day on HubPages and you can find her here http://sunnieday.hubpages.com/.

This is one gifted writer my friends, and you would do well to visit her. She has over 250 hub, all intelligently written, and all marked by her ability to view every aspect of life, but I think my favorite is her hub about Walton’s Mountain. The words introspective and reflective come to mind when I think of this very kind lady who I am proud to call my friend.

THE ONE, THE ONLY….

This appears to be a day when I eat crow on a regular basis, for my next guest is another Hubber who has been with me for quite some time and yet has not been mentioned in this series yet. Well, that mistake is about to be rectified. In my opinion she is one of the most gifted poets on HubPages, but don’t take my word for it. You can find Audrey here http://audreyhowitt.hubpages.com/.

Get this: she sings classical music, she is/was an attorney, she is a writer and she is a wonderfully-talented poet. I know for a fact that she has her own published book of poetry (probably more than one), and I also know for a fact that she has been absolutely gracious towards me as I found my niche in this community. She is well known among Hubbers but if you don’t know her then get with the program and start following her now!

A FRIEND FROM A FOREIGN LAND

You can find this young lady at http://ishwaryaa22.hubpages.com/ and her name is Ishwaryaa, and she is from India.

Answer me this: how can someone as young as Ishwaryaa be so talented? When I was her age I was too busy watching sports and I had the depth of a yardstick. This woman is a gifted writer who also cares deeply about her fellow man, and I find that remarkable.

I like helping young artists whenever I can, so do me a favor and follow this fine lady. She deserves to be followed, read, and appreciated.

FROM MESA, ARIZONA

Say hello to Randi, one of my newest followers. Her site is at http://btrbell.hubpages.com/ for those interested in meeting a quality human being.

Look up loyal in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Randi! I post a hub and she is there; it’s like she has this sixth sense that tells her immediately that I have written something. Then, not only does she read it, but this very busy lady takes the time to leave a quality comment.

I hear you asking if she can write; well, take a look at her series about Miriam and see for yourself. Oh yes, she can write!

Tammyswallow on HubPages, as faithful a follower as you could ever hope to have....and one hell of a writer.

A REPEAT OF ONE OF MY DEAR FRIENDS

I wanted to re-visit some people who were in the first issue of this series, and I’ll start that little tradition today by re-introducing you to my dear friend Tammy! She is quite well-known on HP, but if you don’t know her yet she can be found at http://tammyswallow.hubpages.com/.

Tammy jumped on my bandwagon two weeks after I joined, and there she has remained for the past ten months. She reads my hubs, she comments on my hubs, she shares my hubs, she bought my novel, and if she lived closer I’m sure she would dog-sit for me if I asked her. J

I consider Tammy to be an ambassador of HubPages. While others fake it, Tammy makes it, and if you read her hub about the Ugly Duckling you will find out for yourself that this lady is a quality writer of the first degree. Add to that her craft-making talents and you have a person I am proud to call my friend.

My first follower, but then she loves me, so it was kind of expected. :)

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

So many people to highlight and so little time. I figure if I live to be 100 I just might get around to thanking everyone who I appreciate on HubPages. I know there are many of you that I have not gotten around to yet, but be patient with this old man.

A sincere thank you to all of you who have given a bit of yourself to me. I hope you realize how much I appreciate each and every one of you.
