Hubbers Who Have Been My Support System: Installment Twenty-Three

Thank you all!
Thank you all! | Source

Far Too Long

I’m sorry, but I got detoured between the last installment and this one. No excuses really; I just got busy with H.O.W. and trying to save the world, and forgot this important series.

Why is it important? Well, because without my followers I would be some schmuck in Olympia, Washington, writing to himself, like some love-sick high school geek who keeps a diary that nobody will ever see.

Come to think of it, I once was that geek, so maybe the simile fits.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I take my membership in the HP Community seriously. Sure, it’s nice to get all those views from Google, and sure it’s nice if something we write goes viral (not that I know what that is like), but for day in, day out interaction, nothing beats the comments we get on our Hubs. I have friends from around the world, and their friendship means the world to me.

There are some members of HP who do not interact. They barely, if ever, comment on the hubs of other people. They just keep pouring out Hubs, sending them off to Google and other search engines, and they might even make money doing that. HubPages is nothing more to them than a means to an end.

I find that sad.

I like being involved on HP! I like the friends I have met and I love hearing about their lives. Why would I ever want to give that up?

I’ve been here now for eleven months. The Big One Anniversary is coming up, and I’ll celebrate that anniversary the same way I celebrate every day on HP….with my HP family.

So here are some more of my loyal followers and friends. Check them out and start following my path, the path of community and friendship on HubPages.

One of the Best

Her real name is Eddy, and you can find her on HP at http://eiddwen.hubpages.com/.

If you don’t know Eddy, you are missing out on one of the finest writers on HubPages. She has been around now for two years, she has over 1,300 followers, and she may be the best poet in the neighborhood.

More than that, though, and I can say this with certainty because Eddy and I are close friends, she is a genuinely good human being who cares deeply about others. She was one of the first to support me, and for ten months now she has been there daily to share, with me, her love of life.

If you are interested in meeting a quality human being, then I strongly suggest you give Eddy a shout out. You might need to shout loudly because she lives in Wales.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

Well, there is in my house, and her name on HP is Lovedoctor, and you can find her here at http://lovedoctor926.hubpages.com/.

Why do I like Doc? I guess the main reason is because I gravitate towards people who are genuine and who care about others, and that perfectly describes Doc. Her empathy for others shines through in everything that she writes, and her comments are always detailed and filled with support and encouragement.

Doc, you have a standing invitation from Bev and I; if you are ever on the west coast we are buying you dinner. Thank you my friend, and all of you out there, get to know this classy lady and excellent writer.

Everybody’s Favorite Grandma

Maybe she is, maybe she isn’t, but I have great appreciation for grandmapearl. You can find this lady at http://grandmapearl.hubpages.com/.

The first thing you need to know about Pearl is that she loves birds. She writes about birds; she accumulates knowledge about birds; for all I know, she dreams about birds!

She also has a marvelous sense of humor and she believes in Living Simple, so automatically she gets a gold star for her down-to-earth attitude about life.

Did I mention she is a darn fine writer? Find out for yourself and tell her Bill sent ya!

GIRISHPURI

From India I give you Girish, and you can find this gentleman here http://girishpuri.hubpages.com/.

And he is a gentle man in the truest sense of the word. One of the things I love most about HubPages is the chance to meet others from around the world. Girish is one of those who I instantly respected. He is a kind man who leaves comments that obviously come from his heart. You would be well-advised to get to know this “gentle man.”

What Is a Bizwin

This lady is from England and you can find her here at http://bizwin.hubpages.com/.

She writes about fashion. I write about the human experience, and I know nothing about fashion. We have only two things in common: we are both writers and we are human beings. That has been enough to bond us as online friends and I am grateful for that friendship.

If you are at all interested in fashion then this lady is for you. If you are at all interested in having a follower who will leave meaningful comments on your hubs, then this lady is for you. If you are at all interested in meeting a quality human being, then this lady is for you.

Highland Terrier

From Dublin, Ireland, I give you a Jackeen. Yes, I know, I was confused at first too, but Jackeen simply means someone born and bred in Dublin. You can find my friend at http://highlandterrier.hubpages.com/.

So what can I tell you about this Hubber? Well, I can tell you that the profile says that they distrust politicians. Right there is a good reason to follow this person. J

Seriously, Highland has only written two hubs, but I get a visit from Highland almost daily, leaving a great comment and wishing me well. I respect that kind of loyalty. I hope Highland writes more hubs so I can return the favor.

Have a Spot of Tea in Kenya

Her name is Rosalinem, and this is where you will find her http://rosalinem.hubpages.com/.

She invites you, in her profile, to stop by so she can make you a cup of tea and visit awhile. I like that! This lady embodies everything good about HubPages. She is encouraging, positive, and supportive, and if I ever get to Kenya I’m looking this lady up.

Stop by and say hello to her; I think you will find that I speak the truth about this classy individual.

More? I’m Not Sure!

All good things must come to an end, and so it is with this series. I have been writing this for eleven months, and I have tried to reach out to those Hubbers who have been so faithful to me. When I started out I knew nobody; now, my cup runs over with great friends from every corner of the world.

I promised myself when my first year was up that I would re-evaluate what I have done on HubPages, and then choose my future path from those reflections. That is where I am now, so this may or may not be the end of this series.

I know I have left people out, and I apologize for that. All I can do is say thank you to everyone. If you follow me at all, you know that my thank you is sincere and heartfelt. I love HubPages, and I hope you all gain the same level of appreciation that I have found. My only words of advice, if acceptance in this community is your goal, is to give back more than you have received. People in this community have built-in b.s. detectors. They can tell when someone is genuine or when someone is just in this for their own gain.

Again, thank you all! You have given me great happiness these past eleven months.
