To register with HubPages, all you need is a valid e-mail address. You may use any of the popular website e-mails like Google's Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or MSN Mail (Hotmail or Windows Live).

You write short articles, more or less 500 words, of any topic that you are interested with. HubPages publishes the articles (called hubs in Hubpages) and inserts Google Adsense ads. You earn money from these advertisements.

Being a professional writer or a skillful writer is definitely an advantage but is not a requirement in HubPages. There's a lot of successful hubbers who earn serious money from HubPages although they are not that good at writing. If you are learning how to write, HubPages is good a place to hone your writing skills.

How much do I earn?

It depends on the quality of your hubs or articles. On how much work you put into your writings. But the good thing is, once you have written a sufficiently large amount of articles, and your articles start earning money from Google Ads, money will keep on pouring in every month, without any more effort on your part.

Ok, I know you would ask for figures. You've heard a lot of stories, I assume. Some say they earn a living out of it. Others say thousands of dollars a month. I won't tell you their stories. I'll tell you mine.

I've written around 50 articles. These 50 articles are currently earning around 50 dollars a month, more or less. If we do a little projection with this, if I have 500 articles, I would be earning in the vicinity of 500 dollars a month. What if I have 1,000 articles? That would be around 1,000 dollars per month.

What if I wrote 2,000 articles?
