My 200 Hundredth Hub

My ultimate goal was to finish 200 hubs in 4 months. As of September 21, 2011 it will be 4 months to the day I started working on Hubpages. I am still averaging 50 hubs a month without setting firm goals. I think if I took a month off I might be able to complete the 100 hubs in 30 days challenge.

Where does all this material come from?

I can’t really tell you. I do follow the Sunday Morning news shows and I have been watching the debates so I could report to you but most of it is just everyday boring stuff that goes on in my life. But it has to be something I am a little excited about or a little irritated with in order for me to want to share it with you on HubPages.

Some of our favorite meals I have shared with you and I have kept in the secret ingredients.

I share the shows I love which aren’t many in number. That is what makes them so much fun to share with you.

I share stock and commodity tips. Those are easy and I will always probably share those with my readers if I think it will give them a leg up economically I bad times.

I share the weather as well.

I will probably write articles on anything that I think will inform, entertain, inspire or amuse you.

Lately I have read books and did a comparative analysis between the books and the movies. This is always interesting to evaluate.

I write about Science, Math, Ecnomics and History and oh yes, Politics.

What I Have Tried to Stay Away From….

Since my background is in fictional writing and technical writing I have tried to steer clear of those types of publications for very obvious reasons. I didn’t want to accidentally infringe on my own copyrights.

What I Need to Improve Upon….

I still need to be a better editor of my own work. I am an awful editor. I own that.

I need to learn the technical aspects of hubbing and how to SEO and all the other technical things I should be doing but I have no idea where to begin. I read articles on SEO and I don’t understand them. I will have to learn though. It will probably take me time. But I need to drive more traffic to my pages so I get better ads that people are more likely to click on.

I still haven’t conquered Google Analytics. I have no idea how to make my google adsense show up on google analytics.

In my 4 months I have not sold anything on Amazon. I don’t know if it is the economic climate or that I just don’t appeal to the crowd who shops but I haven’t made a sale. So I have to figure out how to sell products. I haven’t been focused on marketing products to my readers but increasing my readership. I need to find a balance between increasing my readership and sales.

What I Have Learned...

I have learned from everyone on this site. Everyone on HubPages has something to offer and therefore I value my HubPages family.

And I have learned I have a lot more to learn.

When Will I Take A Break?

I plan on slowing down on HubPages now. In the future I would like to take the 100 hubs in 30 day challenge but that is in the future. I had set a lot of goals for myself when I began this endeavor. This is the final one. Honestly, I haven’t written about it because I wasn’t certain I would be able to obtain this goal. I knew I would push myself and be cruel to myself to try and make this goal but I wasn’t really certain I would. Now that I have crossed this one last finish line, I need to be nice to myself.

It has been a hell of a start on HubPages and I want to thank each and everyone of you on this journey with me. You poor souls who follow me and have been inundated with emails almost daily of my hubs, I appreciate you so much. I want all of you to know you have been my inspiration, my purpose and my reason for continuing and I am completely and utterly grateful to all of you. This goal is important to me because I didn’t do this alone but with my HubPages extended family so we did it!! And Thank You!!

      Hi Victoria Lynn,

Thank you and congrats to you as well. I see you are a level 4 commenter. I still follow you and you have quite a fan base.

No problem helping you in the beginning. Everyone helps everyone in this community.

I set really high goals for myself when I started. And now that I made it I need to take some time and learn the system but I probably will not do that until after the shows I have previewed premiere this week.

You have come along really fast yourself. Congrats to you as well.

      All My Best,

      JT

Congratulations! Generally we perform better if we have clearly defined goals. My approach to writing hubs is "ill-defined." I write what I want when I want, subject to time constraints...

      Flag up!

      Hi dallas93444,

I think we are all different and therefore all of our approaches are different. I am glad because I think diversity is a strength. I have read some of your articles and I liked them so whatever you are doing keep it up. It is working but only as time allows.

Thanks for reading, commenting and providing feedback.

Congrats! That is quite a feat. I would love to see you get into some fiction on here...maybe later. Like what you do so far. Keep it up. Excited for you!

      Hi LABrashear,

Thank you so much. I have many fictional publications and I reserve that work for book publication. I also have many many movie scripts and television screen plays. I understand I would have to join a writer's group and work on other scripts before I could ever hope to get anything on the big screen or the little screen.

Thank you for sharing this milestone will me. I am reading your work as well and i am quite impressed.

      All My Best,

      JT
