My 2nd Year Anniversary at Hubpages; A time to look back how I started; a time to dream higher..

I came to hubpages unexpectedly, ... I was a fan of the Korean Drama Queen Seon Deok, so to pacify myself about the drama, I searched for all information about it. Google led me to Febriedethan or Febri, her detailed review of the drama attracted fans from all over, so they visited her hub and shared their views on the story. I enjoyed reading all the comments that I became a frequent visitor, and even call myself a caretaker of her Hub. Then I became curious with the host of Febrie's hub, and came to know Hubpages.

I first observed articles published on line. I noticed they are not the usual blog type that I know. Most of the articles were based on what the hubbers know and they are sharing it. Some are teaching ways to do a particular thing, Some are sharing recipes, some are sharing writing techniques etc. etc.

Hubpages also mentioned about google earnings but I did not really focus on it because I know as a newbie in the hubpaging field, it will take time before I can reach a particular payment threshold and I don't even know if I can survive in the site.

I hesitated joiniing at first, thinking that writing for hubpages was simply not my type of writing, I didn't even know what to write or what to share that can call readers' or fellow hubbers' attention. Then I noticed the accolades at Febrie's page, and I did ask myself if I can reach to the point where I will also have those accolades in the future.

In spite of hesitations I decided to join Hubpages on April 16, 2010. I chose to use my real name "Maria Cecilia", so that it can represent me in general, even if I am not sure yet how I am I going to proceed.

I told myself, "just write without pressure, and write whatever you like, take your time, don't think of the earnings, if it too slow it will just disappoint you, just post your stories because you love to write, and remember this will challenge your writing flexibilities, you wi not only write about animals here, this is your chance to write about a lot of things that you did not know you can also write about".

I started with Admiring Foreign Actors and Actresses as my test hub, and based on growing affections for Korean Stars (LOL).

Followed by "Writing About Dogs", since I am more comfortable writing about them, and my first writing break started when I wrote about my dog Peso.

My 3rd Hub is Perineal Hernia in Dogs, This is the one that I really wanted to be on line, because this is my dog peso's ailment. I can say that until now this is my most favorite hub because this is based on my actual experience, and I want dog owners to find this information and in case they have questions, I will make myself available by answering them in the comment part.

Love for writing made me ignore barriers. All I want is to see are my hubs as they are perfectly presented or arranged in "My Profile Page". The idea of learning to adjust to hubpages rules delighted me too.

The most encouraging of all are the followers and readers who expressed appreciation in my stories. Little by little I saw accolades started to appear in my profile page. The movements that I see whenever I check my statistics are proofs that my hubs are aive, I am just so happy to know that in Hubpages, your works are actively viewed and read by people all over the world.

My Perineal hernia in Dogs hub, started to serve its purpose, when dog owners from all over started to visit the hub and asked for my advice whether on types of food to feed the dog, or surgery procedures. This inspires me to go on with what I started here in hubpages.

When Google Adsense informed me that I already reached a payment threshold. No matter how slow I started, still it inspires me because the most important thing here is enjoying my passion and doing what I like.

The prolific things (living things or non liviing things) that inspires me to write

1. Overcoming the barriers and fears which made me hesitate to join hubpages

2. I made it in 30 hubs in 30 days challenge

3. 90 Hubs that I consider my treasure

4. Strengthening writing flexibilities

5. The habits I developed in choosing the right subject for my hubs

6. Learning to comply according to Hubpages standard

7. Trending Hubs especially "Perineal Hernia in Dogs".

8. Dollar Earing both in Google Adsense and Hubpages Earning Program; even 1$ only

9. Fellow Hubbers who chose to follow me, no matter how many as long as there is someone reading my hub

10. Guests or Unverified users who found me through google, FB, twitter, etc. and left the comments

11. People who interviewed me because they read my hub (one Local channel in the Philippines, they asked me about Manila zoo)

12. Celebrating my 2nd year anniversary and hoping for more florishing years to come

The first time my earning reached $1 after 5 months (some will laugh at me I know), I really feel so happy, it was a bit slow as compared to some maybe but still I am happy. it's like enjoying the cake and realized that the Icing is delicious too.

I will soon reach my first $50 from Hubpages Earning Program and I am dreaming of higher earnings in the future.. I know success is sweeter when all you do is just follow your passion.

It is my ultimate dream to earn big time because of what I have written, it's like you are not aware you are earning that big already because all you do is to write and write to your heart's content.

Though financial advantage is such a good reward, still for a writer, nothing is more blissful when someone you don't know just approach you and tell you "Hey you are Maria Cecilia right? I have read your hubs and you are truly amazing in words".
