My personal 60 day challenge log
Day one of the 60dc hub challenge, for me. Some others have joined a few days earlier, but I am undaunted by my tardiness to the challenge.
My personal goals for this hub challenge are as follows; 1. I will publish thirty hubs in the next thirty days. This means I will stop thinking about writing, and write. 2. I will learn about the promotional aspect of hub pages. I know very little about getting traffic to my hubs. So far I have only been writing. I am anxious to expand my knowledge of internet marketing and hub pages, to increase readership to my hubs.
I am motivated by my desire to write. I have always wanted to write, professionally. I feel I am ready to go to the next level. For me, this means consistent writing, and consistent promoting. Of course, making money would be nice, but at this point, I am happy to learn what I am doing. The money will follow.
I have given some thought to the different topics I will write under. The first three will be spirituality, relationships, and gardening. As I further develop my ideas, the rest will follow. I am excited to begin the discipline of daily writing, with some degree of accountability.
Here's to all my fellow hubbers. Good luck, and Namaste.
Week 1: Cindy, Mindy and Bob; Spring-break, Cindy, Mindy and Bob; Slingshot, Beginners Guide to Babies; The Last Month of Pregnancy, Bible Reading April 6.
Aaaaahhhhhh.... What have I done? Just finished reading the challenge logs of the rest of the team members. Oh my gosh. I am soooooooo lost. I just wanted to write really. What the heck was I thinking? What day is this anyway? SEO? Keywords? Monetize? Yikes. Time to suck it up and get busy. Now, I have to give a massage, but I am feeling very tense, thank you.
Thursday, April 8: Figured out how to add video and amazon links. Also, ventured out into managing traffic. That was pretty easy. Almost like falling off a log. Joined twitter, and added my hub address. For me, this is huge. Also published one hub toward the contest.

Week three began without me. I looked at the calendar this morning, horrified to realize that it really is Monday again.
Aside from being a massage therapist, I am opening a metaphysical bookstore, in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. The good news is, there are none for hours in any direction; the bad news is, there is nothing else for hours in any direction. So, my writing lapsed a little last week. However, this will be a good week for me. I am feeling strong, creative, and inspired by my recent hubnugget win. Thanks to everyone who voted, by the way. I think week four may have ended without me. I looked at the calendar this morning, only to realize that it is Monday, May 3. Sadly, this took a while. The calendar next to my desk was still on March. It took ten minutes to realize that I missed April. Not to worry. Still thirty days left. I think I may be short a hub or two, but I plan to make them up this week.
As for self promotion. That is the real challenge. I have a long list of things to do, in order to promote my hubs. I have noticed a slight increase in traffic since beginning the challenge. I'm not sure what to attribute that to. Right now I am busy checking key words, and rss links, and news feeds. Good luck fellow challengers.

Challenge Summary
The challenge has been done for years. I have been writing on Hub Pages for years. I have learned a lot, during my time as a writer here, about the importance of consistency, the importance of relevant, interesting, engaging content, and the importance of understanding things like Search Engine Optimization.
I wouldn't say I've made a ton of money, and fortunately for me, I'm not doing this for the money. I have a yoga studio and a massage studio that take a great deal of time and offer a wonderful living, doing something I love. But my passion is writing, so I continue to author blogs, I continue working on my books, and I continue reading and learning.
The most important thing any of us can do is to find something you love, and pursue it with your whole heart. Do what you love, fill your life with passion, with desire and possibility. Let your writing take on a life of its own. Let your life reflect who you really are.
