   How is it hubbers with less hubs get better ranking than hubbers with more hubs?
   
   I find that certain hubbers who have written less hubs have better ranking than hubbers who have written far more hubs. Why is it so?

   Well I'm trying to figure it out too. When i joined 4 days ago my profile hubscore was 40, then went down to 24 same day. Now i have 2 hubs it's climbing up again..I see it constantly keeps changing :-)

   I am surprised as well. I dont know how it works. I had low score few days ago, as soon as i started commenting on questions the score started to grow.

   An unconventional answer; perhaps it is how carefully you have designed the hub? From concept; to links; to commenting on other people's stuff? I'm new so that is based on my observation of some more seasoned hubbers I'm following.

   To look at an extreme case, I looked at a hub the other day from someone who had published hundreds of hubs in a matter of weeks. The hub was of poor quality, which didn't surprise me, and the hubber's score was poor as well.

   If you write one hub that is really good and gets lots of page views and vote ups, then you will rank higher than someone who wrote 100 hubs that people either ignored or voted down.

    How many comments and the length of the comments tend to improve your author rank. If you answer questions, participate in forums  and hop hubs your score goes up.  In other words you can improve your score by being an active participant in all things Hub Pages.

    Quality of written,preferable of original content more than 300 words and original images; the amount of traffic to your hub from organic passing readers and hub followers views and comments.Use of hyper-links within your hub to other related hubs also helps to increase internal traffic within HubPages and including the relevant tags for the main content of your article to help optimise interest from other search engines on the internet S.E.O.
    Don't worry about the hub score because it could become like stepping on the weighing scales too often and then becoming disappointed with the results especially at this time of year ha,ha

    yeah I used to write a hub and not really double check the grammar or spelling. My score was a measly 53 now I take my time and only publish a strong hub and my score has risen to 86 in only two weeks.

    Well, let me give you a finance answer. If you put all your money in one thing, you have a higher chance to get a better return but your risk is also bigger. If you transpose this to hubpages, if you only write like 1 hub, you have a higher chance to have better ranking but you will definately win less money.
