   Do you think HubPages could benefit from an edit suggestion button?
   
   If there was a button that let you anonymously point out grammatical errors and missing or mistyped words on other hubber's hubs that only they could see would you use it?

   I am concerned with this option because my hubs contain a lot of mistakes. But I don't think something like this can exist on HP. Because if they say that you own your hubs then you'll be the only one able to modify them. Maybe private anonymous notes can be done for every hub that only the writer can see. I think this will be good for those who don't like to be corrected in comments though it doesn't bother me at all to be corrected in whatever way.

   Probably not a bad idea, but it wouldn't be such a postive motivator for writers.  Hubpages does have some learning sections that help hubbers to improve on writing.  They are pretty well written and very helpful.  I am not always aware of mistakes I make on hub articles, so I would probably get some this button pushed on my hubs.  I like forall's mention of sending a private anonymous note to help someone's writing skills improve.

   On the one hand, I think I would like to have an edit suggestion button.  That way, if I see a typo or other error, I can notify the Hubber without having to out myself.  Definitely better than flagging for situations that are easily correctable.  The issue I would have with this, is that some Hubbers (especially new ones) might get a lot of conflicting messages and may not know which ones are accurate. 
   
   However, I can see how some people could take it too far, and regularly use it to leave hate mail and harass the Hubber, or more likely spam.

   I am on the fence about this as well. I would appreciate it if hubbers pointed out my errors. I do proofread but one or two always seem to slip through. I have a good friend that will tell me if she reads a hub and finds something. I love her for that.
   I would like to have the option to anonymously alter somenoe of a mistake. I have seen a few in hubs of excellent writers and I know if they noticed them they would have corrected it. But I do not want to point it out to them for all the world to see. Perhaps messaging them privately is an option.

   If the author could check an option to let readers suggest edits privately-- so that the author can consider making changes, I think it would be great! I don't know how complicated this would be on the programming side, but I would like to see it.

   After reading the comments ahead of me, I'd say "no."  The anonymity factor could prove problematic.  A kind note to the writer directly to his profile email would probably be the best.  Also, it might do to read several of the writer's hubs before suggesting edits.

   I think an edit suggestion button would be a great help, for almost all of us. Nearly every hub I have read has at least one error. It's usually something like I rather then it or something silly. I find one nearly every time I reread one of my own hubs as well. I have a test site where I have been playing with such a feature, and it seems to be very useful. It could be set up to mark directly where the error is on the hub, and it could send a notification to the author. Only the author would see it and it could be anonymous, or not. The author could then decide if it is helpful or not. It could also be incorporated into our own hubber score to prevent it from being misused. For, example if you suggest a lot of edits that aren't necessary it would lower your score. This was just something I have been playing with and thought I'd throw it out there.

   Oh, I long for this help. I love HubPages but I am swamped and yes, I make silly mistakes. It is not laziness, it is not lack of knowledge it is lack of time.
   
   Sadly, on the other side of the equation when I see typos rarely do I reach out and help. I simply don't have time.
   
   Then when I do reach out I try my very best to soften the error and then it takes me even more time.
   
   Working in isolation is frustrating - a helping hand would be wonderful!
