Has anyone experienced increased traffic to hubs after simply editing their titles?

Yes, I have.  Look at the title tuner and start there.  Also, think about what makes an attention grabbing title.

Thanks, and I hadn't thought about the title tuner.  Good advice.

Yes, this has worked for me.  You get get advice from the Tuner as to what words you can include in your hub title.  Good luck, Kevin

Thanks, Kevin. Glad to know it's helped others. Even though I'm not a "newbie", there are still some things I need to study in the HP learning center.

I think so.  I am always tweeking my hubs, especially since I am fairly new and always seem to find a way to make the hub better.

You're ahead of the game by learning everything to make your hubs better while you're still a new Hubber, carol. Good luck on HP!

I asked this because I edited (or, "tweaked") many of my hub titles this morning, and traffic increased on every one I changed! Amazing. That certainly motivates me to re-read all of my hubs and update/edit the content as needed. I'm just wondering if many HP writers experienced a traffic increase just from changing hubs' titles or if my experience is a fluke.

Yes I visit it regularly and makes some changes only where I see a lot of entries for a particular phrase or word. Seems to work wonders. Good luck.

wow that's great!  My best fix was for one that was coming up n the same google page as one of my others.  They are different topics.  I changed the title to reflect how they were different and the newer of the 2 started getting more hits.

I have changed titles on two hubs, one on forgiveness and one on help for the elderly. Both have received more traffic as a result. One that I changed with the title tuner made the title too long, so I may change that one back. It is fun to change the title and see what happens

    Quick question on traffic increase...

After changing the titles did your traffic increase die off after a few days or was it permanent?

The reason I ask is twofold...

    1) Google likes updated content so updating the title (or content) makes it 'fresh', resulting in a temporary increase in SERP ranking.
    2) Since the URL of the hub changes after changing the title any backlinking you did is instantly eliminated.

From what I've seen the title tuner seems to recommend 'action' words rather than keywords, is this the case for everyone?

I'm just wondering since about 1/3rd of my hubs have different titles suggested, usually add 'how to' or 'learn how' etc..

Mine have been permanent.  I try to make the titles have more keywords, sound more fun, and for the ones of mine that end up next to each other on google - make them clearly different in purpose.

It's too soon for me to know, as I just made the changes. I'm also editing and updating my hubs (a laborious process, but necessary), so I hope the "new and improved" hubs will generate permanent increased traffic.

The URL never changes even after you change the title.

You are indeed correct, the URL stays the same.  Other sites I've published on updated the URL when changing the title.

      Thanks for the info!

I've gone ahead and 'tuned' my titles, let's see what happens...

Great. Maybe it's not just a "flash in the pan."
