    Hi,

Along with many people in the world, I was taken by the symbolic act of the reporter throwing his shoes at George Bush.

Someone has started the idea of a "Shoe-nomena" - where Americans send their oldest, crappiest shoes to George Bush, c/- the Whitehouse as a form of protest at what the  Bush Administration has done to the country over their term in office.  (You can also play the video game at http://www.sockandawe.com) Boy, these guys are fast!

What a great idea. Love it.

What I DON'T love is the thought that the guy who chucked his shoes at George Bush faces 7 years in gaol yikes

I think it's actually up to 15 years in jail that he faces.. plus he got his arm broken and sustained several other injuries as well. Would have been a great opportunity to demonstrate what true freedom and democracy means - instead the response was pitiful and barbaric.

On the upside, that guy has garnered one of the largest fan clubs in the world with one act.

      Oh come on Misha.
I hereby pronounce you the "Shoe Policeman of Hub Pages yikes
That's not spam, and you know it.
It's adding to the original post, and since when is a link to a news site spam?

At least its something different than the religious wars that blaze away in thousands of posts on these forums.

If you're going to flutter around Hub Page using an angels face, then at least try to have a bit of an Angels heart :-)

@Miranda - Thanks for becoming a fan, and yes, It's certainly an act that will have extraordinary implications.

      Merry christmas.

*** This thread was posted less than an hour ago. It's currently at #5 position on Google for "Shoenomena", which is undoubtedly where the person Misha is calling a spammer found it. So - doing a google search, finding the hubpages forum and making a comment is now the criteria for being a spammer? Brave call.

Anyway, this is a term that will no doubt be searched a lot over the next few days. Maybe I should do a hub on it!!

No I am not spamming but if you dislike the concept feel free to remove my post.

or You could join in and have a laugh! Come on it will be fun!

    Merry Christmas

I laugh with you  - but this is not an excuse for breaking the rules. And no, I am not the one removing posts, but no doubt it will be removed soon - not because we all support Bush here, in fact I can hardly imagine anybody supporting him here, but because your post is spam.

      Merry Xmas

Hm, man in leather with a bike vs an an angelic creature .... fighting in the spam wars. I feel a movie opening coming on...

HE was a mere mortal with a penchant for shoe related humor... the other HE was a creature of pure light and a deeper knowledge of the HubPages...

Caught between them, an innocent spreader of the shoe news...

A story of struggle, of conflict, of turmoil, of unlikely love found at the bottom of a shoe, and ultimately - of redemption!

The only light coming from Misha is from the sun which he thinks shines out of his bum.

Great synopsis. Can't wait for the rest of the sotry :-)

@Misha - yes, you can have a card. But it expires at midnight on the last day of 2008.

Cheers, Eric G. Now I have to go and do some work.

LOL Eric, we won't fight over this, will we? Maddie will decide anyway smile

Joining the forums and immediately posting three links promoting own case since when is not called spam?

Like the idea though. People just need to clearly print their return addresses so KGB - oops, FBI - agents could add them to the database without much hassle big_smile
